Y1 (2019/2020)

Counting Caterpillar In this activity the children were practising their cutting skills, whilst at the same time ordering numbers from 1 to 10. In UOI we have been focussing on 'Who We Are', in particular how we all have 2 hands and how we use these to do all sorts of things like, cutting, drawing, putting our clothes on, touching and having fun!  The children certainly did have fun 'finger painting'.

Maths I n maths this week the children have been exploring the number 3. In the picture below Ichi, Linux and Khung are working together on a collage of the number 3. In our UOI, 'Who We Are', cooperation is one of the attitudes the children are focussing on.   Here the children are singing the song, Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.

 First Day Fun In Year 1! The first day of school started of with a Bang, as the class celebrated Awa's fifth birthday.After some yummy birthday cake, it was on to some fun learning activities. In English the children were introduced to the sound 'c'.  To reinforce this sound the children made cats with curly tails'. In Maths we concentrated on ordering numbers 1 to 10.All in all, a fun day was had by all.
