Learning Virtual Style!

Image
I think we would all agree that ‘face to face’ learning is our preferred style of learning.  However, learning online has demonstrated that our children possess many admirable qualities that may have gone unnoticed in the classroom situation.  Some of these qualities include; perseverance, resourcefulness, creativity and self discipline. I am amazed at the time the Year 1 students are spending on their work at home and indeed the final product.  Well done Year 1! Maths This week the Year 1 students have been working on basic multiplication. We have been exploring the concept that multiplication is simply repeated addition. To reinforce their understanding of this concept the children have been drawing sets of different objects. Tone, Moses and Junior did some really impressive work as the pictures below show. Welcome to Term 3

Love your words and illustrations Luffy! So proud of you Tone, for finding all of those synonyms  to describe your mammoth.  I love all of the synonyms you found too for 'little'.  Well done! The children listened to the story 'The Raft Race' during an online session and then had to answer questions on the story.  Luffy did a ...

Online Learning Continued!

Online Learning. Here we are completing our second week of online learning.  Once again I am astounded at the resourcefulness of parents and children.  As part of our Unit of Inquiry we have been investigating transport and the children have made some wonderful vehicles.  Luffy made an excellent plane and video taped the process.  What a wonderful record to have.   What talent and creativity.  What a superb rocket Moses.  It must have taken a long time to make! Love your plane Thames.  Obviously a lot of thought and imagination has gone into this! Euro proudly shows off his plane and rightly so!                                               Euro does a magnificent job of drawing a bus.                               ...
