Book Week.
UOI
In class this week the children were learning about the sense of taste. We had lots of fun with this activity as the children were blindfolded and asked to identify the food by tasting. The children were able to describe the various foods using appropriate vocabulary such as, sour, sweet, bitter, spicy etc.
In Maths this week the children were introduced to odd and even numbers. Activities included clapping the even numbers and whispering the odd numbers as well as the children ordering themselves into groups of even and odd numbers depending on the number they were given.

Phonics
This week the children have been focusing on the sound 'f'. As a class the children brainstormed things that begin with 'f'. We also read the book 'The Rainbow Fish'.
Maths
The children also worked in pairs to complete a Venn Diagram about similarities and differences.
Book Week
What an amazing book week we've had. The children were engaged in activities for the whole week ranging from 'Story Adventures' to 'Reading Buddies', which involved the older children reading to the younger children.
For the Grand Finale the children dressed as their favourite character and paraded from the front of the school to the court. The children looked amazing and a great time was had all.
