Happy Hallowe'en.

Maths

This week in maths we have been working on simple addition using counters.  The children were also introduced to a number line as a tool for addition.

As we have been studying homes as part of our UOI, we made a bar graph of the number of bedrooms in our homes, integrating maths and UOI.

Linux uses counters to help him with his addition.
Alex completes simple addition sums using a number line.

Amelia works on the bar graph.

UOI

In UOI the children have been learning about homes.  Parents were invited to send in a photo of the family home, these were put into a slideshow.  The children were then able to discuss the similarities and differences between their homes.

Tanat talks about his house.

The children are learning their sounds extremely well, so much so that we covered two sounds this week, 'p' and 'h'.

We have also been working on simple cvc words.

Linux proudly shows off his writing.

Hallowe'en

What a fun time was had by all at our Hallowe'en Party.  Costumes were amazing as was the food sent in by the parents, thank you. The children has such fun dunking for apples and trying to eat doughnuts hanging from strings.
