Home Is Where The Heart Is.

Once again the Year children have enjoyed a busy, fun packed week.

Maths

In maths the children continued with simple addition sums.  They also worked on numbers bonds up to 10.  As well as counting the even and odd numbers up to 20, the children completed a colouring in sheet of odd and even numbers.

Phonics

The letter of the week this week was 's'.  The children completed a colouring sheet with objects beginning with 's', drew their own pictures of things beginning with 's' and  practised the letter formation.  As a class we also read 'The Rainbow Serpent' and 'Funnybones', which was about skeletons.  The children then cut out and pasted their own skeletons.

For his 's' picture Chris not only drew some soup but spoons as well.

UOI -

In UOI this week the children continued their investigation into homes.  As a class we looked at homes all over the world and discussed similarities and differences.  The children also began working on their own model homes using cardboard boxes.  This was a very popular activity which the children thoroughly engaged in.
