Home is where the heart is.

UOI

The children continued with their investigation into homes this week. We looked at the factors that determine where people live. After lengthy discussion we had compiled quite a list.  The children then made a picture of a home with some of the factors that they thought of as important, for example roads and an electrical supply.

As part of our UOI, the children are making models of Adobe Clay Houses.

Phonics

The sound for this week was 'm'. Here the children look at and discuss all of the things beginning with 'm'.

Linux is very proud of his work in his Jolly Phonics Book and rightly so.
Great work Linux.

After reading the story 'The Monkey With The Magic Pipe', the children drew a scene from the story and wrote the words 'monkey' and 'monster'.

Maths

This week we have been working on some Christmas maths. In order to colour the Santa the children first had to do the addition or subtraction sums to find out which colour to choose.

The children were also working on number bonds to 10.

Birthday Celebrations

We also had birthday celebrations on Thursday. Thank you for sharing your birthday treat with us Linux.
Happy Birthday.

Linux makes a wish as he blows out the candle.
