Surprise!

UOI

What a lovely surprise to come back from our mid-term break and see how much our bean plants had grown, a natural introduction to our new UOI; 'All living things go through a process of change'.

Alex observes how much his plant, from home has grown.

The children are very excited to see the change and growth in their beans.

Hugo is absolutely thrilled at how much his bean plant has grown.

Maths

This week the children have been completing math's tasks at various stations set up in the classroom.  One station gave the children the opportunity to practise their addition skills by playing the dice game.

At a second station the children made up their own addition sums using a number balance.
Hugo thinks carefully as to where he should place his weight in order to make it balance.
Linux matches the multiplication sum to the picture.

Alex very feeling proud of the addition sum he made.

Literacy

As the children's reading skills are developing, we have started reading silently for a few minutes each day in class.  This gives children the opportunity to explore a variety of books and discuss them with their classmates.
