A Celebration of Learning.

A Celebration of Learning.

This week the students of Year 1took their parents on a 'learning journey', in the form of 'student-led conferences'.

It was inspiring to watch the students confidently and competently explain to their parents how to do various activities in both maths and English.
Nobu Kun shows off work from his portfolio to Mum.

Linux explains the life cycle of the koala to Mum and Dad.

Amelia shows off her Google slide presentation to Mum.

UOI

This week the Year 1 students completed their Google slide presentation on the life cycle of an animal of their choice.
It is an understatement to say that their slides were impressive!  In a matter of a few weeks they learned not only how to log into Year 1 but then to open up Google slides and insert text, images and even a video!  So impressed Year 1.

Hugo and Alex helping each other.

Chris very pleased with himself at the good job he's done with his slides.

Literacy

In literacy the children's writing is improving on a daily basis.  I am amazed at the beautiful letter formation and spacing between words.
The children also enjoy making words with magnetic letters.

Amelia thoroughly enjoyed this activity.

Math

In maths the children continue to practise counting in 2's, 5's and 10's.  The children were also introduced to writing addition sums vertically.

Korwan busy doing her vertical addition.
Nobu writes the above sum vertically on the board.

Songkran

What a wonderful performance the students put on for the Songkran Assembly.  You did it again Year 1!  Well done.

All that remains to say is, 'Have a wonderful holiday, Year 1'.
