Tick Tock!
Tick Tock!
The clock certainly is ticking in more ways than one in the Year 1 classroom. With not many days left until the end of the school year, we have been extremely busy trying to cram in as much as we can into our school day. In maths we have been further exploring time and learning about half past and quarter past the hour. We have also been learning how to double numbers and half them.

Literacy
In literacy as well as continuing with our reading and writing lessons we have also been exploring rhyming words.
In this activity the children had to cut out pictures of objects and match the ones that rhymed.
UOI
After lengthy discussion and reading books on natural environments, the children painted or drew pictures of a natural environment including the features you would expect to find in such an environment and what beautiful pictures they turned out to be! They also began work on a Poster to encourage people to look after the planet.
