Cakes, crabs and peacocks.

Yet another fun filled, busy week has gone by!

Phonics

This week we have continued learning the sound 'c'.  We engaged in many activities to consolidate this learning including, making things from clay beginning with 'c', making posters and drawing pictures.

Next week we shall move on to the sound 'a'.  It would be wonderful if the children could bring in some objects beginnings with 'a', for example a toy ambulance or cut out pictures from magazines.

Maths

In maths this week we have been exploring patterns.  The children were asked to make their own patterns using cubes and then represent these by drawings.

UOI

As part of our Unit of Inquiry the children have been talking about what makes them special and unique.  As such, they have been exploring the sense of touch and just how important their hands are and all the things they can do with them.  They also found out that no two fingerprints are the same.  To consolidate both concepts the children made some peacocks using thumbprints.
