Birthday Celebrations.

Happy Birthday Natasha!

Once again we had a reason to celebrate last week as it was Natasha's birthday on Friday.  The children thoroughly enjoyed the cakes Natasha brought to school .  Thank you Natasha.

Literacy

In Literacy this week, we investigated punctuation, in particular, capital letters, full stops, question marks and exclamation marks.

We read the story 'Talk, Talk, Talk', and identified the above mentioned punctuation and the reason that this type of punctuation was used in stories.  The children were then set the challenge of choosing a book and finding sentences with; capital letters, full stops, question marks and exclamation marks.  They then copied the sentences into their books.

Mathematics

The children continued their work on measurement, using their own handspans to measure things in their classroom.

UOI

The Year 1 students continued to work on their dioramas for their summative assessment.  Luffy chose to do the life cycle of people. He made his people from clay and made a house from a cardboard box.  Meanwhile Jewoo is busy making and anaconda for his life cycle.
