Out Of This World!

This week the children explored the concepts of space and space travel.  They learned more about the planets in our solar system and even designed their own planets, describing what they looked like, who lived there and other relevant information.  What imaginations!

Torch busy at work creating his planet.

Moses did a great job at designing his planet and also provided lots of information.

Obviously a lot of thought going into the creation of Jewoo's planet.

Loving Luffy's Planet.

English

The children practised their writing skills this week by making their own space books.  They also looked at the digraph 'oo' as in moon and found lots of words containing this sound.

Junior busy working on his digraphs.
The results are proof that hard work pays off.  Great job Junior.

Torch produced some very pleasing results too.  Well done Torch.

Moses did a tremendous job with his Space Book.  Great pictures and great information.  He also drew a very detailed rocket accompanied by lots of facts.  Superb job Moses!

Tone's picture of the Earth.  Great job Tone.

So impressed with Luffy's commitment to daily journal entries.
Amazing job Luffy.

Lunar did a marvellous job of interpreting a poem she read.  Have a listen.

So impressed with Tone's work.  He has been working on his singular and plural nouns.  Great job Tone.

Maths

This week the children were introduced to the concept of time, focusing on o'clock and half past the hour.  The children drew clock-faces whilst some made their own clocks.  The children also worked on word problems, 'The Chill Challenge'.

Lunar has fun telling the time.  Great job Lunar!

Tone also has worked hard at learning how to tell the time.

Jewoo  made a fantastic clock.

Now for something completely different!
